A little about my professional experience…

Filed under: Frank Keeney — frankkeeney @ 12:12

My first posting will be about me.

I am an experienced Technology Manager with substantial experience in managing global development teams and delivering quality products within budget and on schedule. I utilize full software life-cycle development processes with major accomplishments in areas such as Enterprise software, Infrastructure, Product Definition & Deployment, and consumer facing web properties as well as stand-alone applications.

I’m a twelve year AOL veteran most recently a principal product manager for AOL’s flagship Windows AOL Desktop family. Immediately prior to this role, I managed several elite global engineering teams responsible for building unique social online experiences.

I possess strong skills as a strategic and organizational leader. I have a reputation for working collaboratively with external partners and internal teams to drive strategic initiatives to completion.

I have a long and consistent record of on-time delivery of complex enterprise and social/user-centric products, with an eye focused on the customer and their needs.

I am always enthusiastic about strategic conceptualization and implementation, and fully capable of bridging the gap between product development and business, always with an eye on the end user’s experience.

I have lead development teams using both traditional and iterative/agile development methodologies.

  • Directed requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation, oversaw development, integration, and deployment through cross-functional teams.
  • Championed product launches, oversaw definition and execution of initial and sustaining marketing plans and PR releases.
  • Supported sales team on sales collateral, represented vertical products at sales meetings, developed sales proposals, and assisted with closing deals.
  • Managed relationship with strategic partners, initiated and organized review meetings, maintained communications with partners on key financial and operational data exchange.
  • Defined overall vertical strategies and roadmap to acquire new audience. Developed business cases in support of department and corporate strategies, and obtained senior management support and approval.
  • Performed market research and analysis, assessed competitive landscape to identify product and content opportunities. Assessed internal products, capabilities, and competencies that could be leveraged to capture market opportunities.
